The port of Salerno is one of the most important ports in central-southern Italy. In the last 20 years it has had a great development in all sectors: goods movement, passenger traffic, fishing and yachting.

The Manfredi, Masuccio and Marina d'Arechi docks accompany the development of the port area. The commercial one, especially after the construction of the Maritime Station designed by Zaha Hadid, should pass through the Manfredi pier; the tourist one especially for the Molo Masuccio; finally the recreational one for the Marina d'Arechi pier.

In reality, the Molo Manfredi, like the Molo Masuccio, is also used for fast connections with Amalfi, Positano, Agropoli, Capri and Ischia. In fact, during the summer season, the number of tourists embarking from Salerno to the pearls of the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and the Gulf of Naples is constantly increasing, without forgetting the numbers of cruise traffic and ferries to Tunisia (Tunis) and Sicily (Palermo, Messina, Catania).

In short, the port of Salerno is becoming increasingly central in the tourist and commercial routes of the Mediterranean.
